A short preview of a talk by James Kent, to be delivered at the Sacred Elixirs conference

This is a quick note to let you know that I will be speaking at the Sacred Elixirs conference in San Jose, CA, from 10:30-11:30 on Sunday, Oct 23rd, 2005. I will be taking advantage of the Sunday morning warm-up slot to deliver a post-modern sermon on the nature of God, technology, psychedelics, shamanism, cognitive neuroscience, and the history and future of religion. The talk is entitled "Cartoon Gods and Chaos Geniuses," and promises to be one of the most controversial presentations given at any psychedelic conference ever, featuring the world's shortest-lived religious cult; brainwashing made easy; and daring to ask such loaded questions as: "Do human beings really need religion?" and, "If entheogens are the true origin of religion, should they be celebrated or vilified?"
